The Shade is a 2023 supernatural horror movie about a grieving twenty-year-old who, after his father’s death, fights to hold his family together while an ancient, malevolent force consumes his older brother.
Synopsis: Twenty-year-old Ryan Beckman is tormented by his father’s tragic death. Once a promising student, he’s now trapped in a fractured life, living with his grief-stricken mother, Renee, and caring for his younger brother, James. His days are spent in a grim tattoo shop, while his nights are devoted to James, who clings to him for support. The sudden return of his older brother, Jason – a former athlete now shrouded in darkness – only intensifies the chaos. As Ryan struggles to hold his family together, he feels a malevolent presence lurking in the shadows, an ancient and relentless force that threatens to consume everything he holds dear. Caught in a battle he never chose, Ryan must unravel the mystery of this dark entity before it destroys his family and his very soul.
