Her Name Was Christa is a 2020 psychological horror movie about a lonely telemarketer who hires a prostitute for companionship, only to spiral into obsession, delusion, and a gruesome quest for love.
Synopsis: Stephen, a socially awkward and painfully lonely middle-aged telemarketer, lives a life of quiet desperation. At the urging of a co-worker, he ventures into the city’s shadows, seeking a prostitute for the girlfriend experience. This leads him to Christa, a sharp, streetwise call girl who offers him more than he ever expected. Their arrangement blossoms into an unlikely romance, and they confess their love on the very day Stephen is fired. However that night, tragedy strikes – Christa overdoses, leaving Stephen shattered. Unable to cope with the soul-crushing loss, his fragile mind fractures. Denial takes hold, and he keeps her lifeless body, deluding himself that she is still alive. As his world spirals into a macabre charade, Stephen clings to a love that’s both haunting and heartbreakingly unreal.
