Non-living is a 2020 psychological horror movie about a grieving couple returning to the house where they lost their son, only to uncover a chilling message from him that shatters their reality and unravels their minds.
Synopsis: After the devastating loss of their son, a fractured couple returns to their family home, intending to pack up and part ways. However, when they discover a note from their late child, they are drawn into a dark and twisted game that promises a chance at reconciliation. Alex and Natalia Dunn, once a thriving modern couple in a remote part of Spain, had achieved global success as authors of children’s stories and proponents of the de-growth theory. Their world collapses when they lose Jonah, their only son, just before his tenth birthday. Weeks after that tragic day when Jonah’s condition deteriorated and he was rushed to the hospital, they return to their old home for different reasons: Natalia, to pack and move on alone; Alex, to persuade her to stay. Jonah’s message, leading them through a series of eerie clues, shatters their plans and challenges their courage. What ensues is a harrowing descent into a parental nightmare, as they desperately and irrationally fight to reclaim their son from the grip of death.
