Play Dead is a 2025 survival horror movie about a woman who wakes up injured in a corpse-filled basement and must play dead as a grotesque ritual unfolds above, inching closer to her.
Synopsis: Alison’s body is broken, her blood pooling around her as she lies motionless in the suffocating darkness of a cold, cryptic basement. Trapped and desperate, she forces herself to play dead, blending into the putrid pile of corpses surrounding her. However, as the silence presses in, the faintest sound above draws her attention – a guttural chant, the rhythmic beat of drums. Her breath catches in terror as she realizes the horrors unfolding in the chamber above. A grotesque, ritualistic celebration is in full swing, a twisted, sacrificial dance that feeds the darkness closing in around her. With every passing moment, the oppressive atmosphere grows thicker, the sounds more unsettling. The danger escalates – Alison’s life now hanging by a thread, her survival dependent on outwitting the monsters above before they turn their twisted gaze to her.
