Saccharine is a 2025 body horror movie about a medical student who, after eating human ashes for a weight-loss trend, becomes haunted by a vengeful spirit with an insatiable hunger.
Synopsis: Desperate for love and perfection, a lonely medical student falls prey to a disturbing underground weight-loss trend – consuming human ashes. However, as she sheds pounds, she gains something far worse. The restless spirit of the deceased clings to her, its presence growing stronger with every bite. Nightmares twist into reality, shadows whisper her name, and unseen hands claw at her in the dark. Guilt morphs into terror as she realizes she’s become a vessel for something vengeful, something that refuses to be forgotten. The more she eats, the deeper she sinks into a nightmare of spectral torment, where the lines between hunger, obsession, and possession blur. Now, she must unravel the mystery of the ashes before she loses not just her mind, but her soul – because once the dead take hold, they refuse to let go.
