Sleep is a 2023 psychological horror movie about a young, expectant wife who must find a way to stop her husband’s violent sleepwalking episodes before they end in devastating harm to herself or their family.
Synopsis: Heavily pregnant and already bracing for sleepless nights with a newborn, Soo-jin is jolted awake by something far more terrifying – her husband, Hyun-su, standing at the foot of the bed, his eyes vacant, murmuring incomprehensible words. This marks the first of his chilling nocturnal episodes. As weeks bleed into months, Hyun-su’s sleep transforms into a grotesque nightmare, his face contorting into something monstrous, his actions more violent, and his memory wiped clean by dawn. Desperation gnaws at Soo-jin as every attempt to halt his horrifying metamorphosis – home remedies, doctors – ends in failure. Even after their child is born, the nights darken further. Hyun-su’s sleepwalking spirals into nightmarish violence, leaving Soo-jin fearing not only for her life but their newborn’s. Exhausted and terrified, Soo-jin seeks help from a shaman – a final, desperate attempt to save the man she once loved.
