The Last Video Store is a 2023 slasher horror movie about a young woman who brings a cursed tape to a video store, unleashing a deadly curse and a horde of cinematic villains.
Synopsis: When her estranged father passes away, twenty-something Nyla is left with a task she despises – cleaning up the mess he left behind. Among his belongings is a collection of VHS tapes, all destined for return to “Blaster Video,” a relic of the past where movie cover art and catchy titles once reigned supreme. The store is run by Kevin, a walking encyclopedia of VHS history and her father’s old friend. Buried in the collection is a mysterious, unlabeled tape – one even Kevin has never heard of. Could this have been the last movie her father watched? Curiosity proves irresistible. However, when Nyla and Kevin hit play, they unknowingly trigger a dormant curse, releasing a slew of iconic B-movie villains from their cinematic prisons straight into the store. Now, they must confront these nightmarish characters before the madness escapes into the real world.
