The Nest is a 2021 creature feature horror movie where a mother’s grip on reality unravels as she confronts her daughter’s separation anxiety, which spirals into terror when parasitic creatures within a stuffed bear take control.
Synopsis: When Meg and her mother Beth visit a local yard sale, Beth buys her young daughter an innocent-looking stuffed bear, hoping it might ease Meg’s separation anxiety. At first, it seems to work – Meg quickly forms a bond with the bear, talking to it constantly and bringing it everywhere. However, what starts as a harmless attachment soon spirals into something far more disturbing. Beth begins to notice strange behavior – the bear appears to be communicating with Meg and subtly controlling her actions. As Meg’s behavior worsens, she develops an unsettling obsession with hoarding, and soon, Beth discovers a horrifying truth: Meg seems infected by a parasitic force. As the situation grows darker, Beth realizes the stuffed bear harbors a terrifying, otherworldly presence. What was meant to comfort her child has unleashed a nightmare beyond her worst fears, and now, escaping its grip may be impossible.
