Synopsis: Eladio, a dedicated gamekeeper, has been entrusted with safeguarding the expansive hunting grounds of Don Francisco’s estate in rural Spain. This vast estate, meticulously divided into ten strategically placed hunting stands, ensures safety and order. After three years of loyal service, Eladio faces a moral dilemma when Don Carlos, Don Francisco’s right-hand man, approaches him with a lucrative bribe. Don Carlos proposes adding three more stands to the property, a move fraught with risk. Initially, Eladio’s conscience compels him to refuse, but under his wife’s persistent persuasion, he succumbs to the allure of easy money. This decision, driven by greed, sets off a chain of catastrophic events that ensnare his entire family in a web of ruin and despair. Eladio’s once-stable life spirals into chaos, illustrating the perilous consequences of compromising one’s integrity.
