MaXXXine is a 2024 slasher horror movie where a former adult-film star relocates to 1980s Hollywood seeking fame, only to become the target of a lurking killer and industry corruption.
Synopsis
Following the brutal events that left her the sole survivor, Maxine Minx moves to Los Angeles in 1985 with dreams of cinematic stardom and reinvention. She escapes her past in rural Texas and enters the glitzy yet predatory film world, where she auditions for a major studio horror movie and finds herself under the watchful eye of a detective, even as young actresses begin disappearing. Amid neon lights, paparazzi and VHS-era excess, Maxine must navigate betrayal, ambition and murder as the line between performance and predator dissolves. The Hollywood dream becomes a waking nightmare, and survival depends on whether she can out-act the system—or become its next victim.
