Synopsis
In rural Texas during the early 1900s, Pearl lives under the suffocating care of her strict mother and ailing father, isolated from the world beyond their dying farm. Desperate to escape, she clings to fantasies of fame and fortune, dreaming of dancing her way into a better life. When opportunity knocks in the form of a local audition, rejection and resentment fester inside her fragile mind. The line between performance and madness blurs as Pearl’s desires curdle into rage. Soon, her pursuit of perfection turns lethal, leaving a trail of violence across the countryside. Trapped between delusion and destiny, she learns that stardom demands a blood price she’s more than willing to pay.
